The Power of Presence: Navigating Your Child’s Mental Health Struggles with Jennifer Robb

September 18, 2025

When your child is struggling with mental health challenges, the weight of worry and helplessness can feel overwhelming. In this powerful conversation, Anna McLaughlin sits down with Jen Robb, author of “Warrior Mom Rising,” to discuss the raw realities of supporting a child through anxiety, depression, and self-harm.

Jen shares her deeply personal journey with her daughter Chloe’s mental health crisis, including a life-threatening incident that became a turning point for their entire family. This isn’t just another parenting podcast – it’s a lifeline for mothers in the trenches, offering practical strategies, spiritual wisdom, and the reminder that surrender doesn’t mean giving up.

If you’re a mom feeling alone in your child’s struggle, this episode will remind you that God’s delay is not His absence, and that sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is simply show up with presence and love.

Jennifer Robb is a Nurse Practitioner, author, wellness advocate, and unapologetic Warrior Mom with 25 years of medical experience. Married to her college sweetheart for 25 years and mom to three children, Jen knows both the clinical and personal battles of parenting through crisis.

About She Considers a Field… Podcast

The mission of the She Considers a Field… podcast is to encourage and equip homeschooling entrepreneurs to build a legacy of peace, purpose and JOY.

If you’re a homeschooling entrepreneur, you are uniquely equipped to advance the Kingdom of God – both deep, through educating and raising your children, and wide, through your business. But guilt, frustration and overwhelm can keep us stuck from walking in all the Father has for us. As a fellow homeschooling entrepreneur mama with almost a decade of practice in both spaces, I understand how soul-stretching these roles are. On this podcast, you’ll find compassionate, strategic talk about how to wear all the many hats WELL – from a place of fullness, not deficit. Whether you’re currently homeschooling and running a business or you’re simply wanting to be intentional about walking out your faith in the areas of family and finance, there’s something for you here.

This road of stewarding well the gifts God has given us isn’t always easy – but it’s always worth it.
